Salmon is the perfect go-to weeknight meal. Healthy, versatile and delicious, there is a lot that you can do to spice up your weekly menu. With our Sticky Ginger Salmon recipe, you'll transform a simple salmon fillet into a flavourful and mouthwatering dish that’s sure to impress, and make regular appearances in your home.
How Long Should I Marinate The Sticky Ginger Salmon?
Salmon is a delicate fish, so marinating it for too long can cause the acid in the vinegar to break down the fibres. It is recommended to marinate your fish for 20 to 30 minutes before cooking and never more than 2 hours.
How Do I Know When Salmon Is Done?
Knowing when salmon is perfectly cooked can make all the difference in your dish. When done, salmon should no longer be translucent and should separate effortlessly into flakes when you gently press with a fork.
For precise cooking, use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature of the salmon. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the fillet. The ideal temperature for perfectly cooked salmon is 63°C.
Remember! The fish will continue to cook even after it’s been removed from the oven. To avoid overcooking, consider taking the salmon out of the oven a few degrees below the target temperature and let it rest for a few minutes.
